With the recent update allowing eSignatures on lien releases, we’ve received several questions and want to provide some clarity.
- e–Signatures are now accepted, but it’s important to distinguish them from copies of wet-ink (live) signatures, which are not valid.
- A wet-ink signature refers to a physical signature written with pen on paper.
- An eSignature is a digital signature created through approved electronic signing platforms.
- Copies of wet-ink signatures (e.g., scanned or photocopied versions) are expressly not valid and must still be signed live.
