State Mandated EV Training

EV Training is State Mandated for All Dealerships

EV training is required by state law and is separate and distinct from any brand-specific certification.

The law reads as follows: “A new motor vehicle dealer licensed under this chapter that operates under an agreement or franchise from a manufacturer and sells electric vehicles must maintain at least one employee who is certified as having completed a training course offered by a Minnesota motor vehicle dealership association…”

If your dealership still has not had at least one employee complete Minnesota’s mandated EV training, sign up for an upcoming session of MADA’s Electric Vehicle Certification Course.

Topics covered in training include:

·       Fundamentals of Electric Vehicles (EVs)

·       EV charging options and costs for both public and private charging

·       Publicly available EV rebates and incentives

·       Projected maintenance and fueling costs for EVs

·       Reduced tailpipe emissions, including greenhouse gas emissions produced by EVs

·       Impacts of Minnesota’s cold climate on EV operations

·       Best Practices to sell EVs

Sign up today to make sure your store is compliant!
