Recently, some leadership changes have been announced on two important committees in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Due to the election of former State Rep. Kaohl as the Mayor of St. Paul, there was a vacancy as DFL co-chair of the Commerce Committee. Rep. Erin Koegel (DFL- Spring Lake Park), who served as DFL co-chair of the House Transportation Committee during the 2025 Session, has been appointed to now serve as the Commerce co-chair. Rep. Koegel was good to work with on the Transportation Committee, so we fully expect MADA’s positive working relationship to continue with her tenure on Commerce.
Rep. Brad Tabke (DFL-Shakopee) has been appointed as the new Transportation co-chair. Rep. Tabke is a former MADA Legislator of the Year and has been an ally of our industry. We look forward to working with him in his new capacity as co-chair.
As a reminder, the Minnesota House is tied 67-67, so all committees have a Republican and DFL co-chair. There have been no changes on the Republican side, so Rep. Tim O’Driscoll (R- Sartell) will continue as Commerce co-chair and Rep. Jon Koznick (R-Lakeville) will remain Transportation co-chair.
