PFAS is Top Priority

As for MADA, we are pleased we no longer have to advance legislation to address the dealer license background check issue. Our top legislative priority for 2026 will be fixing PFAS reporting requirements.

Currently, manufacturers will be required to report to the state any products containing intentionally – added PFAS on July 1, 2026. Unfortunately, the MPCA’s reporting platform is not workable and manufacturers have made it clear that they will not be able to comply.

MADA will be working with a broad coalition of stakeholders, including auto manufacturers, to delay the reporting date and clarify that products manufactured before that date are not required to be reported.
